Vacancy Details
The recruitment includes 122 vacancies spread across 16 distinct Non-Executive profiles. The available posts include both Fresh vacancies and Backlog positions reserved for various categories including SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, PwD, and Ex-Servicemen. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification & Experience
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates must have scored at least 45% marks in their essential educational qualification. This minimum percentage requirement is not applicable to specific qualifications like the Intermediate pass of CA/ICWA, where a simple pass is sufficient.
- Technical Certifications: Technical roles require relevant ITI Certificates or Diplomas.
- Licenses:
- Electrician: Must possess a valid Wireman certificate.
- Junior Driver / Technician-Drilling / Mechanic-Drilling: Must hold a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) licence.
- Experience Criteria: For posts requiring post-qualification experience (such as Accountant, Technician-Survey, Technician-Sampling, Technician-Laboratory, Electrician, Machinist, Technician-Drilling, Mechanic, and Mechanic-cum-Operator), only experience gained after obtaining the essential educational qualification will be considered valid as on the cut-off date.
- General Conditions: All qualifications must be obtained from an Indian University or Institute recognized by AICTE, UGC, or the Government of India. Candidates are restricted to applying for only one post under this advertisement.
Nationality
Only citizens of India (Indian nationals) are eligible to apply for these positions.
Age Limit (as of September 1, 2026)
The maximum age limit for UR and EWS applicants is 30 years. Age relaxations apply to reserved categories as follows:
- SC / ST Candidates: Relaxation of up to 5 years.
- OBC-NCL Candidates: Relaxation of up to 3 years (requires a valid certificate issued on or after April 1, 2026, along with a self-declaration).
- PwD Candidates: Relaxation of 10 years for General, 13 years for OBC-NCL, and 15 years for SC/ST.
- Ex-Servicemen: As per official Government of India directives.
- Retrenched Ex-Contingent Workmen of MECL: Relaxation of up to 20 years.
- Internal Candidates: Up to 1 year of relaxation may be granted subject to CMD approval. No relaxation will be offered on essential qualification or experience requirements.

Salary & Benefits
Selected candidates will receive salaries in accordance with the Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA) pay scales:
- Grade W-3 (e.g., Junior Driver): Rs. 19,600 – 47,900
- Grade W-4 (Most Non-Executive Posts): Rs. 20,200 – 49,300
- Grade W-7 (e.g., Accountant): Rs. 22,900 – 55,900
Additional Benefits: Beyond basic pay, MECL employees are entitled to IDA, HRA, Perks & Allowances (cafeteria approach), PF contributions, Group Performance Related Incentive, Group Medical Insurance, MECL-Employee Defined Contributory Superannuation Scheme (NPS), Group Personal Accident Insurance, Group Term Insurance, vehicle loan facilities, and House Building Advance according to internal company rules.
Selection Process
The recruitment process comprises multiple successive stages. Please note that all physical tests and written examinations will be conducted exclusively in Nagpur.
- Screening of Applications: A dedicated screening committee will evaluate application forms to categorise candidates as “Eligible” or “Not Eligible” based on submitted parameters.
- Written Test (100% Weightage): Administered by an independent external Public Examination Authority. The minimum qualifying marks are 50% for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS and 45% for SC/ST. Relaxed standards apply to PwD candidates in line with government regulations.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates from the written exam will be called in a ratio of up to 1:7 per vacancy in order of academic/written test merit.
- Skill Test / Trade Test (Qualifying): Conducted by an internal committee to evaluate candidates as “Suitable” or “Not Suitable”. Marks obtained here do not contribute to the final merit list.
- Final Merit List: Compiled strictly on the basis of written test scores of those candidates who successfully qualify the Skill/Trade test.
