1. APTET Exam
The initial step is passing the relevant APTET paper:
- Paper-1A/B: For candidates aiming to teach Classes I-V
- Paper-2A/B: For candidates aiming to teach Classes VI-VIII
Candidates choose between regular education (Paper-1A/2A) and special education (Paper-1B/2B) based on their specialization.
2. Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT)
After qualifying in the APTET, candidates may need to appear for a separate Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) conducted by the state government. The selection process for teacher recruitment includes:
- Weightage of Scores:
- 20% weightage: APTET scores
- 80% weightage: Written test in TRT
The combined scores from APTET and TRT are used to prepare the selection lists. It’s important to note that qualifying in the APTET alone does not guarantee recruitment or employment. It is one of the eligibility criteria for the teacher appointment process.
